Bogey is operated by Bogey Aircraft Radar LLC, a Vermont limited liability company (27 Bruce St, Winooski, VT 05404, USA). In this policy, "we," "us," and "Bogey" refer to Bogey Aircraft Radar LLC.
Bogey is an aircraft identification app. You see a plane, open the app, and find out what it is. That's the core experience.
Bogey uses your location while the app is open to show aircraft near you. Your coordinates are sent to our server to query nearby flights. We do not track your location in the background. Your location is saved with each aircraft you catch (so your logbook shows where you were).
When you create an account, we store: your email address, username, avatar selection, catches/logbook, settings preferences, and push notification token. This data is stored in Supabase with Row Level Security — only you can access your own data.
Aircraft positions come from publicly broadcast ADS-B radio signals — the same data commercial aviation relies on. Live aircraft positions contain information from adsb.lol, made available under the Open Database License (ODbL) v1.0. Flight route data contains information from the VRS standing-data project via adsb.lol, also made available under the ODbL v1.0. Aircraft and flight enrichment data is provided by AeroDataBox. Aircraft photos are provided by Planespotters.net and credited to their photographers in-app. During outages of our primary source, failover data may be served courtesy of adsb.fi and airplanes.live.
Scout (our AI assistant) may send your questions to Anthropic's Claude API for processing. No conversation history is stored between sessions.
We use Sentry to collect crash reports, which include device information and the sequence of actions leading to a crash. This helps us fix bugs.
We collect lightweight usage events (app opens, catches saved) to understand how the app is used. No advertising. No tracking pixels. No third-party analytics SDKs.
We do not sell your data to anyone. Period. No advertising networks. No data brokers.
You can delete your account and all associated data directly from the app. Go to Settings and tap "Delete Account." Account deletion permanently removes all records from our database, including catches, achievements, and profile data. You can also contact us to request deletion.
Bogey is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
